HISTORY OF THE artisan clutch

In 2009 while living in downtown Nashville, I created
a purse by sewing two vintage buttons to an art canvas.
I folded the purse and stitched the sides. There was no clasp or magnet to hold it closed and no lining on the inside. Just a raw, accidental, and explorative moment.

I carried the clutch to a few events, which sparked great interest in my immediate creative and fashionable village.
Thus, what is now known as the "artisan clutches" was born.

The very first hand painted canvas "artisan clutch" Beth created.
